UOL’s mobile showflat travels to where the buyers are

Singapore developers are getting creative in selling newly launched projects to deal with the slowdown in the residential market.

For instance, UOL Group has developed a mobile showroom (pictured), the first of its kind here to bring the showflat experience to home seekers across the island.

The aim is to target busy professionals who may not have the time to visit a showflat.

Measuring 6.9 metres by 2.2 metres with a height of 3.1 metres, the truck turned mobile showroom features the mock-up of a living room at the 555-unit Riverbank @ Fernvale condominium.

On the road since last Friday, the first stop was Century Square in Tampines where it was open from 10am to 8pm daily.

Office worker Ong Soh Kheng visited the showroom and was impressed with what she saw.

“My office is just across the road from Century Square. I saw the truck and wondered how a condominium showflat was brought here. This is an interesting concept; you actually bring a showflat to a mall which makes it very convenient for potential buyers,” noted Ong.

The mobile showroom will travel to other locations in the coming days, including United Square, One Raffles Place and Singapore Expo, and it will be parked at each venue for one to three days until 7 September.

Anthony Wong, Deputy General Manager, Marketing at UOL said, “We are excited to be the first property developer to introduce this mobile showroom concept in Singapore. At UOL, we always strive to introduce the most innovative and best level of service to enhance home buying experience.”

Launched in February, Riverbank @ Fernvale is located in Sengkang and is close to Layar LRT station and the soon-to-be-completed Seletar Mall.

The 99-year leasehold development is set to obtain TOP in 2018.
